Summary

This book was written by Cole Knaflic who originally worked back in google as a data analyst and wrote this book to help fellow colleagues when it comes to storytelling with data. Through this book I learned the importance of infrequently used visualizations such as waterfall and slopegraph and how they are best utilized, as well as developing charts and tables to better represent the data you are attempting to showcase. Not everything needs to be detailed, and this book goes through the importance of curating your data to best be understood.

By far the most important takeaway for me from this book was how to structure your storytelling elements to best share the ideas you’re looking to convey. As a non-artistic person myself, this book was highly influential in giving me some key takeaways when designing those elements and some big things to avoid which we may not even be aware of ourselves!
